French toast is a decadent breakfast that’s usually reserved for special occasions or as a weekend treat.
But what if I was to tell you that I have a french toast recipe that’s so simple (and low in calories) that you can enjoy it any day of the week?
With just 4 ingredients and taking 2 minutes to cook, this french toast recipe is a winner in my books.
I like to serve it was fresh raspberries and maple syrup, but you can also top it with nuts, shredded coconut, nut or seed butter, or even cottage cheese – the choice is yours!

Here’s how you make my super simple French toast:
Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Slices Wholegrain Bread
- 40 g Maple Syrup
- 60 g Raspberries
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Whisk the eggs in a shallow bowl. Dip the bread into the mixture, coating both sides evenly.
Step 2
Heat a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Cook the bread slices for about two minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Repeat the process until all of the bread is cooked.
Step 3
Top with raspberries and maple syrup. Enjoy!
Notes:
Leftovers: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to three days.
Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free bread instead.
